Welcome Lydia Huck

ESC’s Process/Mechanical groups have added a new member to their ranks! Lydia Huck is joining us after graduating with her Masters in Biological Engineering, with a minor in Sustainability, from the University of Arkansas. After graduating, Lydia knew she wanted to find an engineering firm that specializes in the Food and Beverage industry but was having little luck in finding a place that fit what she was looking for. So, naturally she did what any of us do these days. She googled it. She came across ESC and started perusing our website to learn a little more about us, and what we do, before reaching out through our “Join Our Team” link, having reserved expectations for results due to how her search had previously been going. She was met with an email from our CEO and COO the following day to set up a meeting. After many conversations and meeting our ESC family, she decided she really loved the culture of ESC, what we stand for as a company, and specifically our mission of giving back to our community. When the offer went out, we were so excited she decided to accept our invitation to become part of our ESC team.

During her time at U of A, Lydia spent two and a half years working on her master’s thesis that dealt with analyzing the engineering and economics of a newly invented carbonation unit called the Carbo Rock-It for the craft brewing industry. This provided her a great opportunity to be exposed to a lot of what ESC does on a regular basis; the kind of exposure that gives her an invaluable leg up when starting her career.

Outside of work and school, Lydia has cultivated a love of cooking. She is currently working on compiling her very own cookbook that is made up of recipes gathered from friends and family, as well as new recipes she comes across! Keeping her company in the kitchen and being the best judge of her creations is her two-year-old fur-baby, Oakley, that has been her constant companion since he was a puppy. When she’s not cooking, Lydia enjoys time outside with her pup or sitting down with a good book. Being new to the area, she has plans to do some exploring in the near future as well to see what all Springfield has to offer!

We are so excited to have her on board and can’t wait to get her started on new, exciting projects for our customers!
